Horse Creek CCC Camp

The ARES group activated the Horse Creek Civilian Conservation Corps camp as part of a national CCC event on August 12.  Two antennas and radios were set up and quite a few contacts were made.  The event provided good practice for portable operations.  The location was excellent with cool weather.  A great day outdoors!

Event Reports

Emergency Preparedness Fair

The ARES group participated in this year’s fair.  It was a very warm day for September.  The booth was more popular this year with plenty of information handouts and free plastic bags.  Also a hit was a code oscillator and Morse code breakdown for kids to tap out their name.  We had a lot of interest in amateur radio this year.
